Membership Process

Elizabeth Perry, founding member with the late Robert Elston, outlined the process for becoming a member of ARTC in the Bylaws: “If an active member in good standing with ARTC wishes to bring someone into the workshop, that member should submit a letter of recommendation and the prospective member should submit a letter of intent expressing his/her desire to become a member and the reasons why, along with a photo and resume. It is also useful to the Membership Committee to hear if there are any particular Projects on which the prospective member wishes to work. ARTC emphasizes that the workshop, although open to guests, is not to be considered in any way a showcase. We are a working lab and must remain so for the freedom of the workshop process and the protection of its members.
